Although very few titles about Tonga or in general have been written by Tongans the last decade has seen a major increase in publishing by Tongan nationals. This is most evident in the proliferation of monthly/weekly newsletters/magazines. The advent of new technologies, lowering the entry barriers into publishing has made publishing more accessible to Tongans.
We can be assured with the proliferation of desktop publishing, and now electronic publishing, that the voice of the people's of Tonga can be more easily found.
